What A Week
This week has been filled with so many wonderful things that has allowed me to celebrate students. I have attended several of the convocations that have been so uplifting to see the joy on the faces of the students and their families. The Executive Team went out to the St. Mary's food distribution to speak to those in attendance and it just reminds me that our community has a need that we are helping to fill. The Preview Day for the Puma Empowerment Center Powered by Dress for Success Phoenix and the Puma Pantry was just awesome! We have a beautiful Clothing Studio and food pantry that will support our students and that makes me very happy.
Tonight I will celebrate the students at the Paramedic cohort graduation, and Friday morning we will gather for the End of Year Employee Celebration. In honor of National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls we ask everyone to demonstrate solidarity by Wearing RED on Friday, May 5th. A group photo will be taken in Q120 after the End of Year Celebration. Finally, please try to attend the PVCC Spring Dance Collection "Embracing Change" on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00pm. So many wonderful things are happening that fuels me to keep doing the best I can for students.

End of Community College Month
As we approach the end of Community College month, I feel such a sense of pride as I have reflected on the work that is being done at PVCC to support our students, each other, and the community. There have been numerous events taking place highlighting the academic excellence of our students and the preparation and support of our faculty has been remarkable. Moving into finals week stay the course, you are almost at the most exciting time of the year, convocations and commencement! If you have not taken the time to register to attend one or more of the convocations, please do so to ensure that PVCC displays our support of all of our students through our attendance.
I had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the baseball game yesterday as we celebrated Coach Nick Candrea, celebrating 50 years of coaching at our Staff and Employee Day at the Fields; It was such a joy to be there. Please take a moment to congratulate Coach Candrea on this major accomplishment.
I look forward to seeing you at the Puma Talk this afternoon!

A Great Week
This has been a really good week. I had he pleasure of ending last week visiting with our Men's Cross country team as they received their National Champion rings! It was a joy to spend a few minutes with them and Coach Barney and to receive my ring as well. Congratulations again! The Holiday weekend was great and the time was well spent with my family.
This week, I've had the opportunity to meet and celebrate all of the Honors Scholarship winners and particularly the two for PVCC; I attended the Mayor's State of City Address where she focused on solutions to our water challenges, the climate, economic development opportunities, and housing solutions for the city; I welcomed perspective students to PVCC; I will celebrate the newest inductees to Phi Theta Kappa tonight and I have continued to meet with community partners.
